Fandango Under the Stars

Catholic Charities’ Guadalupe Home hosted another successful Fandango Under the Stars on Saturday, February 23rd at Pedrotti’s North Wind Ranch in Helotes. Guadalupe Home is a transitional shelter for mothers and their babies under the age of three who find themselves homeless. More than just a temporary shelter, Guadalupe Home provides a safe, no-cost home while mothers work toward self-sufficiency.

Guests arrived to the fun, family-friendly event in western wear. Children were treated to indoor crafts and activities while adults browsed the silent auction and visited with old friends to live entertainment by the Instigators. The live band even held a dance contest for guests with one special dad and daughter winning the trophy!

Hosted by Catholic Television of San Antonio’s Executive Director, Yesenia Ramirez, guests learned more about why Guadalupe Home is so special. Board of Advisors Chair, Dottie Nichols, reflected on the work of Guadalupe Home to transform lives and change futures for mothers and their babies. Additionally, a former client shared her story from stability to homelessness because of domestic abuse. Now, that client is living self-sufficient with an apartment, a vehicle, a steady job, and her child thanks to the love, comfort, and guidance of Guadalupe Home staff and volunteers.
