Financial Assistance

Case managers are available to lend a helping hand when you need it most.

We have seen unprecedented uncertainty due to the pandemic. If you find yourself financially struggling due to unplanned circumstances like job loss or illness, our experienced and compassionate case managers can provide immediate cash assistance for food, utilities, and safe shelter.

Emergency Financial Assistance

One-time emergency financial assistance is available to prevent homelessness and utility disconnection as well as provide financial coaching and budgeting assessment for income-eligible individuals and families. The program offers financial help to those about to be evicted or have utilities shut off. *Eviction notice and/or utility disconnection notice required.*

SNAP Assistance

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) helps people buy food for good health.  Our case managers can also help with screening for eligibility for other federal benefits like TANF, Medicaid, CHIP, and HTW. Those interested in SNAP may bring their ID, SSN cards for all household members, light bill, and proof of income to Guadalupe Community Center. More documents may be requested at a later time in the process. SNAP food benefits are put on a spending card and can be used like a credit card at any store that accepts SNAP.

For more information, call (210) 226-6178 or visit us at Guadalupe Community Center, 1801 W César E Chávez Blvd, San Antonio, TX 78207, Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm.
