The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) provides free tax preparation for individuals who earn up to $55,000 annually providing immediate cash to supplement living expenses, pay debt, or save money.
Eligibility to receive free tax filing:
- Earn up to $55,000 a year
- If filing your taxes jointly, your spouse must be present at the time of drop off
Services provided by VITA:
- 2017 – 2020 Tax Preparation
- 1040X Amended Tax Returns (regardless of the location where initially prepared )
- Free W-7 application assistance for the Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN)
What to bring to receive free tax filing:
- Original photo identification
- Original Social Security Number card
- All tax documents including W-2s, 1099R’s, SSA-1099, 1099Misc, bank interest, or dividend forms (if paying for Obamacare 1095A)
- Completed intake forms in English or Spanish

The Guadalupe Community Center VITA office is open for assistance:
- Monday – Thursday 1:00pm-7:00pm
- Friday 12:00pm-6:00pm
- Saturday 10:00am-4:00pm
Bring copies or original photo identification, Social Security Number cards, and tax documents at drop-off. Tax preparation will be returned within 48-72 hours. Returns will continue to be processed through April 15th.
